But over these past six years I’ve been comforted and blessed in many ways as I’ve learned that not only can she know me and love me but that life, as she sees it there, is working out for good in her.
Living among the poor and observing her mom and dad’s care for them is an experience that I would not be too quick to take away from her now as I see how she has grown into a confident and outgoing girl with a caring spirit for anyone who needs a friend. She has challenged me with her sensitivity and knowledge of what is right and wrong and she is eager to be of help where she can be. I think she will be a doctor one day. Come to think of it, penmanship is not her first priority. I write that with a smile.
Last Saturday, while everyone had plans to go out, she and I stayed home. It was the middle of the day, but it was movie time . . . a matinee. . . why not?
She had everything planned.

I was impressed with how she cared about her 2nd cousin - Tehya was there to help Adalia feel safe on the swing and to help her accomplish little steps across the bridge. And Paeton was the big strong guy to help carry the tricycle. Great kids!
What an encouraging post for grandparents who have their grands at a distance geographically speaking. She is a beautiful girl and I'm so glad you can have some real together time.
Yay, another grandchild post! :-) I don't know this sweet girl, but the way you describe her so well makes me wish that I did know her! Continue enjoying each moment of their visit!
It's interesting that sometimes the thing we fear turns out to be a blessing in disguise! What a special girl, and such a sweet time you shared.
Thanks for sharing your encouraging stories of your grands!! Loved the posts!
I enjoyed reading how you learned that there is good coming out of your relationship even though it left you so hurt when they initially left Canada. I think we, as women, tend to project fear into areas, relationships, where it's not necessary! We are told so often, in scripture, to "FEAR NOT!" but to instead place our trust in the Lord, to stand firm and to be of good courage. I don't have any grands yet, but, my own kids grew up far from their grandparents. And I know it's hard to say goodbye every time. Good for you, Anneliese, for forming lasting memories!
What a sweet girl!
I can't imagine how hard it is to have your grandkids grow up far away from you...but today's technology does help in ways that a few short years ago were not possible.
Wonderful bonding memory making .. just the two of you! So special!
What a precious child...one who will always have that special bond with her grandmother.
What a beautiful child in all ways. A gem! Thanks for letting me know about her and how she is blessing our world.
THESE are the things which memories are made of...enjoy!
It's so wonderful you get this special bonding time with your grands!!
Oh...I've been thinking of you all day...as my house is jammed with 4 little peeps cousins all meeting together for the next three days.
Every blanket and pillow is used and they are all tucked in sleeping, I hope for a few hours.
Yes, truly they set the stage and make memories.
Interesting as I watch you reflect upon your children's decisions....
