Okay . . . remember the magazine? Like I thought, the best part was opening it. However, I did find something that caught my fancy. See this tiered stand? Now you can make one with what you already own.

I tried it with the mugs . . . but my mind kept going . . .

Maybe some sturdy candle stands would work . . .

with clear glass plates or just one to extend a couple of Chrystal cake stand.

Why not try them with my china?

I found a small trifle stand and thought I'd fill it with roses and use it as a separator between the plates.

Hhmmm.... maybe it needs some tarts and scones.

Another cake stand in my china cabinet caught my eye . . .

and I had to see what I could do with that.

As you can tell . . . with my serving dishes spread out on the table, I could just go on and on. Now I just have to find an excuse to use these. I don't think I'll be looking to buy a tiered stand any time soon.

Great idea. Much better than spending money and taking up more room in the china cabinet. I've seen a similar idea - a glass candle holder crazy glued to the bottom of a pretty plate.
Beautiful!!!
Love simple creativity with things we already have and usually the results are stunning and a conversation starter! Gorgeous dishes you have and I'm sure this can be done with casual dishes as well!
I like the way you think! Great ideas!!
I too saw the great idea in the magazine. You have put together beautiful creations with what you have in your china cabinet. They look amazing and yes, I can just see a post coming with these plates laden with delicacies from your kitchen. I love your creativity.
Wow, you have some really pretty plates!
Very nice!
What fun ways to use the cake plates, etc. I'll have to experiment, too. :0)
I love it..I've been messing around with my plates and candle holders too..although I hadn't thought of the china, that's about the only use I'd get out of my few china dishes:)
Great ideas...all of them. I've made pedestal plates using a dinner plate glued to a candle holder. This takes it to another level.
Have a happy day today!
I love this!
Isn't that "the berries" as my grandmother used to say?
I've heard you can use dental adhesive to stablize the stack, or floral clay. Maybe unflavored gelatin could be used for a temp glue for the clear items?
Fantastic ideas! Love this.
Great serving idea's, I will have to go through all my old dishes to see if I can come up with some things to match with my new dishes, so much fun.
thanks
