Reaching High

The rose bush, between our house and the neighbors, was starting to encroach on my washline space so I had to lop off about two feet.
It seems it was reaching high for sunshine. Is there a theme here?
Not all is lost, as I get to enjoy the blooms inside.
However, it will be a while until there are more to share.

The scent is heavenly!

I can almost smell them. My grandma grew the most beautiful roses. Most of them were Victorian and the most wonderful smell...they grew with the peonies and the rest of the flowers...She had a green thumb, as it is said....As for me, I can hardly grow anything....
Thank you for sharing your beautiful roses...
Love from NC,
Sandy

What a frilly rose. Do you know it's variety...it looks antique.

Gorgeous!! I need a rose bush, I've never done so well with them in the past but I'm ready to try again. What kind are yours Anneliese?

Beautiful color. Do they smell as lovely as they look? To answer your question...I live in Georgia and our summer arrived in late April. That's when we started having temps in the 90s. May brought the 100+ days...which is unusual. Normally, it is late June or early July before we break 100. We always hope for a long spring and an early fall, but it rarely happens that way.

Such beautiful roses. Ours have started to bloom now, too, and I am enjoying them so much.
I enjoyed reading your posts from the last week or so - wonderful story of the cabin!
