"There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under heaven." Ecclesiastes 3:1

When the Lumberjack Came Back

So here's what happened in the days that followed that first tree-felling episode. To begin, I took a photo of a broad view of our tree-line with the one tree down, right in the middle of the photo. On the second day they took down the two trees I will focus my next photos on, not ignoring the fact that later the tree on the very right came down as well. Basically, four large trees closest to us in our view.

He's working on the second tree.

The third tree was a goner, with the fourth following suit. At this point I am happy to say that they seem to be done, although road construction is continuing.

In Ecclesiastes 3: 2 we read that there is a time to plant and a time to uproot.
Whether it is technology or life in general, I tend to fight change
and I try to remember that there is One who remains steady.
Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever.
(Hebrews 13:8)

"The same in what?"  I ask myself.
He is sovereign,
all wise,
trustworthy,
desiring our best,
loving us,
full of mercy,
forgiving,
faithful to keep His promises
forever.

In a world of change, it's good to know
"As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat,
summer and winter, day and night will never cease."
Genesis 8:22

Thank you for a timely reminder of God's faithfulness. I don't do change well, but I'm thankful that He is patient with me! Have a beautiful day!

Oh I hope that hasn't left too much of a hole in your view!! May the trees that remain spread their branches with new growth and be more beautiful then ever before!! Your words inspire me Anneliese.

Thank you Anneliese. It is interesting that they did this during winter when the foliage is already gone. There must be some analogy in that as well.

Praying the change....will come with some blessings as well.

Wow, that is quite a change in your view. And wow, that man is up really high! I think you and I are alike in our view of change...not a big fan! :-)

I love that promise that God never changes - sometimes it seems like life whirls around me without rhyme or reason, yet I can trust in God's complete faithfulness and love. But it can still be a hard path to walk.

Amen to the verses you shared. Change is easier to deal with when we have an unchanging God in control.

Change seems to be happening faster and faster. That was a great reminder that we can rely in God's promises and in his character. And trees can always grow back, just not as quickly as they have chopped them down!

Their timing was just right to do their cutting back - before the new growth of spring. It will be interesting for us to see the view from your window throughout the other seasons. Not easy living with change, but it is so wonderful that our God is the same yesterday, today and forever!

These new verification words are very hard to read at times!!
