And Then he was Two!

Yesterday we celebrated the last family birthday of the summer.

From the moment we drove up the driveway,
there was no mistaking who the birthday was for.

Picnic blankets in the late afternoon sun were a perfect spot to enjoy hot dogs and burgers,
while parents, grandparents and great-grandparents chatted in groups around the grill or in the kitchen.

When it was time to come in for  cake  cupcakes

the delight on his face was plain to see!

I think he would have been happy with just the tractor on his cupcake . . .
but he had to be convinced that there was more . . .
there were presents . . . more than one.
He wanted to enjoy each one and never mind opening another . . .
 giving evidence of
the sweet innocence of a two-year-old with no expectations.

 Happy Birthday . . . Koey Deere!
Two is good!

So cute!! happy Birthday to your little grandboy! This reminds me of our 4th boy, James, who was smitten with tractors. On his 3rd birthday we bought him the Little Tikes tractor with a wagon to pull - Sarah used to ride in the wagon. It was so sweet to watch!

Such a sweet post and a sweet boy! Wanted to tell you that I bought the Melissa and Doug play house after I saw it on your blog. I took it on the camping trip and the girls loved it! It will stay here so all the grands can enjoy it. So glad you wrote bout it. Thanks!

It seems not long ago you were waiting for his arrival...and went out to meet him for the first time. And now your little 'dear' is two years old already! Love the tractor theme!

What a creative way to celebrate your adorable little guy. You can tell by the look on his face, that he is thrilled by it all.
