The best gifts are those not wrapped in shiny paper and ribbon.
They include . . .
doorbells announcing the arrival of family,
grandchildren all under one tree.
giggles around the kid's table.
the spontaneous, uninhibited arm of one around the next,
happy adult conversations
and innocent eyes at the wonder of it all!

So happy for Christmas memories which are all tucked away in your hearts.
Looks like you had a wonderful time.
Xoxoxo
Amen to all the best gifts!! Beautiful photos, Anneliese!
The best gift of all! We experienced that this year too, and it was truly wonderful. What a blessed Christmas for you all.
I like the idea of taking a photo of each family by the front door!
I like how you found each family at your door.....special love was shared inside your home this Christmas....the best of gifts.
I love your tradition of taking photos as they enter your home!
Merry Christmas!
I don't know why, but this post has touched my heart and brought tears to my eyes! Your greetings at the door are so wonderful. I remember my mother doing this one year - documenting all 8 of her children and their families coming through the front door for Christmas Dinner! I need to find those pictures! Anneliese your posts always bless me and this one is especially beautiful! Many blessings to you and yours this New Year coming.
Such beautiful photos. I love how you are ready to take a picture of each family as they come in the door. Such a great tradition.
I loved this post...it's just pure simple, serene and beautiful.
My heart is full of joy for you as I look at each family arriving. I so enjoyed stepping inside your celebration for a few minutes. What a lovely family you have and what a gift to you, to get to celebrate with them. Your place setting is so pretty, and the little girl on the last picture, is priceless!
