Snow Day

On Monday morning, while dawn was barely breaking,
my H left for his usual morning run, but soon returned when he found out how icy it was.
We live on a hill, where no matter which way you go, there will be a downhill and an uphill.
I heard a slight something by his night table, but went back to sleep
trying to get the extra winks before 7:30 rolled around.
Turned out, I never woke up to any alarm.
He had turned it off,
called my walking friend's home,
talked to her husband
who turned off her alarm . . .
and we both slept through our walking time.

She called me later, laughing at how sweetly our hubbies take care of us.
I opened the door only to answer it . . . once to  a neighbor and once to Kristal.
Oh, and to take a photo of this tree in front of the door. . .
with fluffs strewn about like cotton.

On my kitchen table I have a new bouquet of flowers given
to those of us who helped cook dinner for the pastors on Sunday.
White tulips and pussy willows against the snowy background
add a nice touch to a snow day.

Okay, here is the difference (just one?) between BC and SK! In SK, pussy willows and tulips won't show up on our radar for another month or two! Yours look so pretty! -33 again tonight....come on, Spring!

Aww - sweet story. The snow definitely looks like cotton balls - so pretty. You know, I went out and bought myself and my sister-in-law bouquets of tulips after your last post about them a few weeks ago. Your new arrangement is so pretty!

Beautiful pictures Anneliese.

I do love winter. Would I love it more if it were not going to be minus 30 this weekend?

What a nice Monday morning surprise! I just shared that with Elmer...how the alarms get turned off on a snow day. We got up with intentions of walking this morning but looked out to see pouring rain...so we will walk another time. :)

What a sweet gesture on your husband's part. I think little kindnesses like the two guys did, are what make life more tolerable. The white snow and white tulips are a perfect indication of God's love for us. So pretty!
