September Musings

As I listen to the rain patter on the awning of my open window,
feel the change in the air
and darkness descending at an earlier hour,

summer days become but a teasing distant memory.

Sunrise, sunset . . . swiftly flow the years.
One season following another
laden with happiness and tears.

All is well.

The perfect post for coming home after this dream vacation. Yes, Autumn comes all at once, one day plus 30 the next plus 8. I'm very happy for the cooler weather, and realize this little cold snap warning means there are several things I must do this month to prepare for Winter. Let's hope we have a good transition.

I have never before contributed to a blog before Anneliese but have followed the Mennonite gals for several years. We are about the same age and stage of life and I could relate to your posts so well. I am fortunate to have my three kids and 5 grands all in the same city but now that school has started, our visits will change too. On one hand I am glad to not have that hectic pace of raising kids but I find myself looking both into the future and wondering how I arrived at this stage so quickly! Time to count my blessings! I feel you missing your family! Hang in there and know that people care. Donna

Yes, the season is changing. We are in Canmore Alberta just now and the drizzle in town translated to snow on the mountains. Very pretty, but very cold for me!

Dear Anneliese,
I understand your feelings of happiness and then deep sadness, the ups and the downs of missing your family. I go through this also and had never experienced anything like it until I became a Grandparent.
Please know that you are cared about and understood when you share your thoughts.
Audrey.
