From when our kids were very young, we saw characteristics they had acquired
either from his side or my side . . .
which often ended in playful teasing.
Sometimes I see a certain look in a grandchild and I see his daddy
or the way another one says something and I see the other side of the family.
Maybe it's easier to see the side we are not as familiar with.
On this night I noticed that what seemed normal to me
was taken note of by Shaun.
He saw how father and daughter can really get into a house plan.
They both feel comfortable with numbers and measurements.
They both see the picture.
What I saw as completely normal,
could have been seen as unusual.
The mathematical genes passed on
along with family experiences where plans have always been around . . .
have surely made each of our kids, in some ways, like their father.
Again . . . it was just a moment in time,
but somehow special, in it's own unique way.
Maybe just for me.
Maybe just for me.

Your kids are fortunate to have their father's expertise and interest in this area. What a precious picture of father and daughter working together.
What a great picture!!! Love it!
So much fun to see similarities like these...
A great observation and what a wonderful picture capturing it! Passing down his knowledge and expertise to his beloved daughter! What a beautiful renovation this will be!
Special to me too
Construction has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I have been told that I have so many of my dad's characteristics, and we have seen the same with my husband and our daughters. That picture of your husband and daughter is priceless! How blessed your children are to have such a caring and active dad!
So nicely captured in that photo...daughter and father sharing interests in the technicalities of house construction. These are the special times....the everyday moments of life.
That is such a great photo of Kristal and her dad side by side, working out the plans. I know that they'll make that kitchen plan just right! Looking forward to more photos down the road.. or hoping for more photos down the road.
One of those neat moments captured. Neat that they both have that same interest and can share them together.
