You may remember that a few weeks ago I put some plant cuttings into a jug and placed them beside my canisters. I enjoyed the green for about a week, when I noticed little buds appearing.
Since then I have re-cut the stems, changed the water and added a wee bit of sugar,
and watched to see the color appear.
I kind of expected the buds to fall off at that point . . .
but for the most part . . . they remained . . .
and the pink petals slowly opened.

This garden plant, way back in the yard, is far from blooming
but here on my counter it looks like spring!

Such a sweet plant to look at!
This is awesome and such a promise of things to come!

How wonderful! A harbinger of things to come.
You have inspired me to cut some wild branches and see what I get. Right now we don't even have pussy willow 'buds' (let alone the fluffy part) but maybe I can make them hurry up. Care I hope for something that would flower? We'll see.

Sharon, it took about three weeks to get here... about a week to get buds and then slow color and finally the blooms. I had not expected this, so it was a nice surprise. Mind you, when I saw what was happening, I babied it a bit.
So beautiful...your 'spring brought indoors'!
Oh my goodness, what a lovely way to dress up a kitchen counter! So pretty!
What a soft pretty pink. A gentle colour for a gentle person.

What a wonderful idea! Things are just beginning to bud here, I think I might just have to go snip some sprigs off today!
