Lit by His Glory

"When Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the two tablets of the covenant law in his hands, he was not aware that his face was radiant because he had spoken with the LORD." Exodus 34:29

As I read this verse, I am struck by the beauty of one who has been in the presence of God. I have never seen someone described in the way that Moses was, but I have seen that light in the eyes in people who have a deep relationship with the Lord. A light reflecting God's peace, no matter the circumstances. People who have spent time with God emanate an assurance of knowing where their treasure is and that it's being kept in heaven for them. They exude a confidence in His best for them as He sets the boundaries of all the earth. They radiate a love that comes from knowing they are loved despite their own unworthiness. This is an identity that is worth pursuing, becoming more like Him, as we learn who He is.

"And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit."
2. Corinthians 3:18

"Those who look to him are radiant..."
Psalm 34:5

My dear Grammy comes to mind when I read this today. In a couple days, she would have been 104. She had joy like no other person I've ever known, and yet she had a tremendously difficult life. But she was filled with God's glory. Thank you for sharing this today, she's been on my mind. Beautiful picture!

The picture and commentary are profound! As I read this, I thought to myself, that "you" are a beautiful reflection of God's light in our somewhat dark world! This blog post continues to be a blessing in the lives of everyone that visits here. Thank you!
