"There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under heaven." Ecclesiastes 3:1

Easter

I brought home some spring clipping from the park where I walk regularly.  I've done this before, yet every year I'm amazed at the first sign of buds and then, maybe a week or so later the green hue, creating a natural arbor over the path as leaves begin to open. It is an amazing sight to observe bare trees and straggly, lifeless bushes planted in a mulch of rotten leaves come alive again. I marvel at the birds flitting about and the ducks pairing off, all creating their little nests for life to go on.

In the first verses of Genesis I read,
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

We know what happened next. God created out of nothing. He spoke and it came to be. He has left his fingerprint, His word in the skies and on the earth below, pointing to Himself. And if that is not enough, He sent His one and only Son to show us His love by allowing Him to die on a cross for our disbelief and rebellion. And from the dead, God raised him up.

Just like He will raise up all who believe in Him. The One who makes something out of nothing. The One who makes life out of death.
