The Miles We've Walked

This time of year, whether walking the path strewn with colorful leaves at home
or enjoying a bit of time in the desert
is always a reminder of where we've come from
and where we are going.
It's a vivid reminder of how young we once were
and how we never would have imagined us at this stage
where we actually almost fit in with the old retired people
we've observed here for 40 years.

This morning as we walked, I wondered how many miles we have actually logged together.
He has always been a runner, from before we got married.
I tried to join him at first,
but the pain in my lungs and side ... ugh!!!
And then I discovered walking!
So, now he runs . . .
and then he still walks with me.
I love this guy!

Those walks are so good when you have a life long friend and love by your side.

Is that a heart, Sharon? I have not seen that.
My H teased me that it meant less than 3 on the post. =)
I've been meaning to write. Hope you are doing well. Talk soon.

Yes, with some sites it will come up as a heart. Not sure how. But "heart" from me. Doing fine. I love these cool Autumn mornings for walking. xxx

Such a sweet post Anneliese! How can it be that we are at this stage of life? My stage is quite a bit further along than yours but I too have so much to be thankful for - even tho we don't do a lot of walking together - we've come a long way!
