For Natalie's 11th Birthday I picked her up for a shopping date and
ahh ... the joy of getting to her door and realizing
her excited anticipation as she got ready ...
her excited anticipation as she got ready ...
coming to the door
wearing a pretty floral dress over skinny jeans, flats,
earrings, a charm bracelet and a purse over her shoulder.
Such a beautiful little lady!
Our first stop was at a toy store and we browsed the doll accessories for a long time.
She chose a travel set for her AG doll ...
and I was just so happy to see the little girl in her yet.
Next we looked for a new outfit at the mall.
Again, just a fun time to see her make a good choice.
For lunch Papa joined us for Chinese food in the food court,
again her choice.
We had so much fun, I told her we should do this until she's about 20!
She giggled and agreed, of course.
I hope we can.
We just never know when new traditions take off.

How fun! She is a beautiful young lady. Time with grands is the best gift ever.
I see pure delight and joy in both your faces! She is beautiful and so is her Grammie.
Sounds like a super fun time together! Maybe I'll have granddaughters someday (says the mom of sons). :-) I love to see how you so very deliberately and joyfully celebrate each grandchild's birthday. I have no doubt that you even make those days special for your far-away grands as well.
Shopping with the girls is a truly new experience for me and one that I love. I think I'll have a lot of chance to make up for all that I never got to do without a sister or a daughter. It's so fun to see how much you are both enjoying this tradition!
So much fun!! She looks like you!
What a great date with a tween.
Looks like she gets her great fashion sense from you! Looking forward to a post regarding your spring wardrobe highlights too!
My mom started a birthday sleepover tradition when each of one mine turned 5. Each and every year following until they were 16, my kids loved their one on one time. I'm looking forward to continuing this tradition with my grandchildren.
So special! Love the smile. Happy 11th to Natalie.
What a fun thing to do with her. My Ella is also 11 now - Such a great age! Still a child but mature enough to have wonderful conversations.
I loved this post. Having a grand daughter just a little bit older than Natalie I know that fun age you are enjoying. Still so special to see them enjoying the young girl things....and beginning to embrace the next stage in life. She's just beautiful!
