August 17

No one will be surprised to know that
I've been doing some reminiscing these days,
especially so, as the calendar took me to this day.

Just another day, yet somehow
feeling the brevity of time closing in.

Starting with wishes from afar,
to loving reminders through the day,
my family made sure to let me know, "it's okay"!

On this beautiful summer evening,

we met for dinner

ice cream

and a walk on the pier.

Being with them, reminds me of the blessing of
watching the next generations embracing life . . .
the life I've been privileged to live
childhood
youth
marriage
parenting
college goodbyes
weddings
grandchildren
I'm almost surprised I'm not older!

The Lord has packed a lot into 60 years for me!
More years will be bonus.

Love the bonus years! Your family celebrated you because of all you have done and continue to do for them. The love you all share is evident! God is good!

Oh Anneliese - I feel the same way about how time is closing in but also so blessed for the full years I have had and watching the next generation! Your pictures in vintage colour, are absolutely beautiful and really express the love in your life! 60 is the new 40 - right?

Happy Birthday, Anneliese! My birthday is 8/10 and I just turned 61 so I'm right there with you on the "time closing in" sensation. We are so blessed!

BTW - A very Happy Birthday to you Anneliese. I also wanted to tell you that Aug. 17 was my dad's birthdate as well. He would have turned 101 this year!

Sorry I missed wishing you a happy birthday on your actual day, I did think of you. I had an MK friend of 60 years visiting. We hadn't seen each other for 40 years. As you said in your last post, the "connection" still was there. God is good all the time.
