Downtown Palm Springs

We've driven into the Old Palm Springs center a few times this week for dinner.
It's funny the landmarks or places along the way that hold memories ...
a drugstore, a motel, a movie theatre or restaurant now out of business.
We walked the cobbled stone streets
lined with shops, ice cream places and restaurants ...

my eyes drawn to the way they trim the (bearded) palm trees.
Are they still the same trees?
We talk about times spent with our growing family,
from tots to teen-agers to college days,
never dreaming that one day
they would be taking their families here.
One can only think so far ahead.

But now we know.
We're more than a generation older -
we are the old -
sitting on a patio,
enjoying the peace - yet remembering -
the days we thought would never end.

What a blessing to have a regular place to vacation that feels like home!

As my husband and I are just enterring thisnohase, I find it so intriguing. Your travels and your area you call home in Canada resonate with me. I encourage you to write on recommended sites, events and places for us newbies! That could be an interesting or new? serial blog. Looking forward to more !

"For Everything a Season"!!!! SO TRUE ... we too have come to realize that we are now the old. It is so wonderful that you had and have the forethought of how meaningful these days are and for embracing them with your families. Unforgettable times and memories!

I'm more then a day late and several dollars short as the saying goes or has been altered by me. So pleased that you have this corner of the world to enjoy, make memories and that a new generation is enjoying it, too.
