I've said it over and over these days,
any day we make a decision is a successful day.
Who knew there were so many choices?
Most can be quite fun. Some more tedious ...
and I remind myself that in the end it really will not matter.
I had a deja vu moment this past week as we laid things out on the floor,
a reminder of how we built this family home thirty three years ago ...
planning pretty girls' rooms and a little boy's room.
It leaves me in awe and wonder of the seasons of life.
The colors are more subdued this time around,
but just as fun, if not more.
Thirty three years ago we wallpapered the whole house ...
which was a pain to get rid of over the years.
Believe it or not, we are looking at papering a few walls again.
Tile samples are taking up office space ...
Actually everything that goes on floors ...
has had its turn on the floor here.
Coordinating old and new.
I keep many pictures (such as above) for inspiration ...
reminders of what I saw, where and when ...
plumbing fixtures, lighting, knobs, rugs and finishes.
I think we're on the home stretch and
so looking forward to seeing how it all comes together!
The inside, the outside, the yard ...
oh ... still more decisions!
I'll be back.

There are so many, many decisions to make when building a house. Or renovating (but not quite as many). It's going to be beautiful!
Oh my goodness Anneliese- your colour palette is simply stunning!! I LOVE how you are choosing things to go with your existing things as well. If we ever decide what our future season holds and if it’s a new build, I will be be looking back at your experiences for sure! I hope you give a “tour” once it’s all finished. May you find so much satisfaction and exhilaration from this experience.
Everything is so beautiful but for me it would be overwhelming. I would be unable to make choices. Eagerly looking forward to seeing it all complete.

I know it will be beautiful! You pay attention to all the little details that pulls it all together ❤️
What fun! Whatever your final choice, I know your home will be warm, inviting, cozy, comfortable, welcoming, and gracious Anneliese!
It all looks like so much fun (and hard work). I do t think anybody would mind if you shared more of the process...:D
Larissa ... thank you but =) your uncle H begs to differ. This was already too much for him. He has a more private set of genes, whereas I know how much I enjoy others sharing so I try to find a balance.
Vicky, thank you for your encouraging words! Someone asked me about my style and I actually used the word "Cozy" ... It could be that cozy is different to different people. I like spaces to look like they blend well, clean and uncluttered. Even a color that does not go (in my eyes) can make a space look cluttered to me. =/
Thank you, Monika, Sharon, Rosella and Lorrie ... (♥︎)
You are working your mind in a good way. I'm confident it will all come together beautifully!
I also am excited to see it all when completed - you really do have a great sense of style and design. The colours you choose go together so well and complement each other. Enjoy this process as you definitely have a gift in creativity.

It all looks just beautiful! Maybe you will be my consultant if we ever get around to re-decorating. :)
It all looks so amazingly beautiful! I wish I had your eye for how things go together and the ability to actually get it done! :-)
