After dinner the scattered kids were called back for cake and
well wishes for Papa.
Each of them had made cards with their own tributes ...
special gifts from the heart.
Being together, even though we're missing five,
is also one of the best gifts.
After dessert, we visited on the patio
and, when the treehouse play got too crowded =)
the boys started a game of soccer
My photos are bad...
but they're still reminders of some "seriously fun" playing.
Kristal shared this photo of the girls.
I believe the older ones ended up sharing secrets in the treehouse
while these two raided the dress up trunk.
I'm always surprised what they come up with,
paired with their priceless smiles.
And this is how we celebrated this non-milestone birthday ...
very grateful for another year.

Love all those personal cards from the grands. So fabulous. How fun to be together for this non milestone birthday. Love the outfits the two younger girls came up with. You are moving into quite interesting ages. Glad you still have younger ones, too. Happy non milestone birthday to Herb. Hopefully we'll be able to come across the line and enjoy some major events next year!!
It's so wonderful to all get together these days. What a lovely celebration you had with your family. Happy Birthday to your husband.
Your pictures paint a lovely picture of Papa’s birthday celebration! How nice that the cousins have so much fun together! And that cake looks amazing!!
I've been out of town so just read your last three posts at once. What a sweet note your granddaughter wrote your husband! And I'm so proud of her for finding the courage to read it in front of everyone. Looked like his birthday celebration was just perfect... (almost) all of the family together. That's my favorite kind of celebration!
I love non-milestone birthdays the best! This looks like a perfect way to celebrate. You have such a beautiful family. Bless your hearts ...
