We left Salt Lake city and within hours came upon the most amazing rock formations,
our destination close at hand.
Bryce Canyon seems to be a well kept secret,
because I only heard of it once we told others of our travel plans.
It is said that this is the largest concentration of hoodoos on the earth ...
I didn't know that is what these rock formations were called,
but have to agree that the name suits.
We found a nice lookout for our lunch
and marvelled at this place that truly surprised us ...
a grand ampitheatre of unimaginable design,
a delighful way of God saying, "And I also made THIS"
.Having said that, there was something cartoonish about the landscape ...
where your imagination could run wild.
At Sunrise Point we took the trail down into the canyon.
At first I thought we'd be coming up the same way, but the trail kept
calling us on, something new around every corner.
Visions of the Three Kings from the East
(in my imagination)
and abandoned castles.
We kept going and eventually the trail led us back up
coming up at Sunset Point.

Such amazing landscape. So glad you could enjoy it! It's on our bucket list.
Wow, I've heard of Bryce Canyon but had no idea it was so amazing! Thanks for taking us along to such a unique place.
Beautiful scenery. That one tree looks like it might just walk away on its own roots.
So beautiful! Bryce Canyon was my favorite. We were there on our anniversary in 2010.
