After a 7 year battle with Alzheimer's, my mom slipped away from us on Sunday afternoon. Her life was one of joy and sorrow meeting time and again, but her faith remained constant in the One who led her all the way! Oh, how beautiful heaven must be for her now! Auf wiedersehen to a mom, Oma and great-Oma who loved well and was well loved!
I will write more in days to come. I'm just not there right now. This is just to give a glimpse into these days. I so much appreciate knowing that even my blogging friends have come to love her.

I am so sorry for your loss <3
Peace be with you and yours as you walk this path together.
So much to process. May God's comfort overwhelm you with peace. You loved her well and were a wonderful daughter. Hugs and prayers...
Love her smile....it's more radiant now then it ever was. Take time. Hugs.
So very sorry. I loved your posts on your Mom. Praying for you and your family. The Lord's grace and peace be with you all in this tender time.
Hugs and prayers. I have loved the stories you have shared about your beautiful mom.
I am so very sorry for your loss. You loved her well. Thank you for sharing her with us.
What a lovely picture of your mom. Thank you for posting it for those of us who never knew her except through your stories here. When I tried to think of her this day, the image I had was of her weddng head dress: a simple homemade bridal tiara. Please post the bridal tiara picture again.
Thank you for all the stories, for sharing your wonderful mother with us. Through your gift of story we knew her.

Through this blog it is clear that your mom and you were very close. I am guessing she inspired and maybe taught you many of your traditional baking products. Relationships with our moms run deep. They are the ones that have known us the longest from conception to their departure. Thank you for sharing your journey. Your love is so evident. Love and prayers to you as you grieve her earthly presence and celebrate her being in her heavenly home.
The stories we have shared of our mom are loved and enjoyed by many. One friend said to me, “I’ve never met your mom, but I love her!” My response is, “ she would have loved you, too”. Because that’s who she was. Loved by all because she loved with a genuine and sincere heart.
So sorry to hear of your loss … my thoughts and prayers are with you …may her memory be eternal
Such a bittersweet time…..a great loss for you and your family, but a great joy for your mom who is finally freed from the prison of her failing body. Thinking of you and praying that the Lord will comfort you with beautiful memories and the love of His people who walk with you.
Well done good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of the Lord! Your mother got her wings, but it hurts to say goodbye. Prayers for your comfort and peace.
Dear Anneliese & Family,
I am so very sorry for your loss. I have enjoyed reading your stories about your Mom & learning a little about her life. How wonderful that you & your family had such a loving & gifted Mom & Oma with a deep faith! I will copy a poem for you that I came across.

From Death and the Life After
By Billy Graham, 1987
The Other Side
"This isn't death--its glory!
It is not dark--its light!
It isn't stumbling, groping,
Or even faith--it's sight!
This isn't grief--it's having
My last tear wiped away;
It's sunrise--it's the morning
Of my eternal day!
This isn't even praying--
It's speaking face to face;
Listening and glimpsing
The wonders of his grace.
This is the end of pleading
For strength to bear my pain;
Not even pain's dark memory
Will ever live again.
How did I bear the earth-life
Before I knew this rapture
Of meeting face to face
The one who sought me,
saved me,
And kept me by His grace."
(p. 165)!
But as it is written:
“Eye has not seen, nor ear heard,
Nor have entered into the heart of man
The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”
~I Corinthians 2:9 (NKJV)~
So sorry for your loss, Anneliese and family, but rejoicing in your mother's gain. It was always a joy to read your posts about your dear mother and your journey with her during these last years when you needed to start saying good-bye to the dear mother you knew. May God's peace and comfort be with you.
What a beautiful smile and so much love surrounds her. Thinking of you all during this time of great loss. It is just so hard to lose your mom ... Huge hugs.
Oh I’m so sorry to hear your mum has passed away. Of course I had never met her but you introduced her so beautifully to your blog followers that we all fell in love with her. She was so well loved by all her grandkids and family she will be sorely missed. May the Lord bring you to a place of peace in this difficult time.
I am sorry to hear of the loss of your loving and Dear Mom.

Anneliese, because you've shared her with us I feel as if I've lost someone I know. Your mom's smile was so beautiful and she kept smiling throughout it all. My deepest condolences to you and your family. I'm praying for you all.
I’m so sorry for your loss. Though we’ve never met and I didn’t know your mom personally, I did come to know her through your blog. May a peace that passes all understanding surround you and your family. I pray that you will find comfort in knowing that this good-bye is a season but it’s not forever. You have been in my daily thoughts.
