I have to say that the biennial Grandparents' Day,
was a big welcome back into the classroom this year.
With four students at this school, we didn't have a lot of time in each class,
but what we had was so special!
Our first stop was Teddy's Grade 5 class, where she promptly proceeded to show us some language and math skills they have been working on.
I even learned something new.
Who knew that different triangles had ways to remember them by?
Oh, and we also went to check out the fish tank with 1 inch salmon fries swimming about.
A very interesting thing that made me a bit emotional when I walked in
was to see that her teacher is the same one Kristal had some 31 years ago.
He has been a wonderful influence on several grandchildren by now
and is quick to pull out a project done by their mom or aunt.
I could see that his many years of experience make him pack in a lot of learning for the students.
Next we went to Evy's Grade 3 class. She was a bit shy about us joining her at her table.
Rightly so, this has never happened before!
She did a fun little questionnaire with us and showed us how to play a math game.
Jade, in Grade 2, was next, eager to show us her collection of art in her workbook.
She also read us a story, "If you Give a Mouse a Cookie"
I think school is just a lot more fun today than it used to be!
And last, but not least, we visited Jack's Kindergarten class.
There was a display of beautiful valentines bags the students had decorated
and put up like mailboxes for cards.
Such anticipation!
We went through a questionnaire with him as well
and he told us about different stations in the classroom.
There is nothing he does not like about school!
What an amazing start!

Four Grands in one school that you were able to visit. That is so wonderful. Grandparents day is a worthwhile program that schools hold. Love the idea and loved seeing each of your unique Grands loving having you in their classes.
As a teacher for many years I always enjoyed Grandparents' Day. It was such fun to see the bond between my students and their grandparents. The day was often bitter/sweet though because I hadn't been able to celebrate the day as a grandparent due to grands being on other continents. Thankfully that changed 3 years ago and I soaked up the privilege visiting the classrooms of 3 grands then. This year there were 4 classrooms to visit in one school (like you). I was one happy camper! Thanks for sharing photos of your visit with your dear ones.
Thank you for visiting, Ruthie! We've compared notes a bit over the years and I'm so happy for you to have your grandchildren close at this time. I'm at the stage where I can hardly believe the two that left overseas at age 2 and baby, are back here studying and we get to be a home away from home for them as young adults. It is a blessing on this end.
That 2nd pix of JACK with his grandfather is wonderful: there's pride, agreement and a bit of surprise, from Jack for what his grandfather has achieved there. Yes granddad. You got it!

What a great day for you both. They all look proud to show you their work .. I wish we had grandparents' day here.
What treasures to store up in your memory bank.❤️
How wonderful! I'm looking forward to seeing two of my grands at Grandparents Day which is in the spring at our school.
What a fun event for both you and the grands!
