The following morning we received a specific list just before heading to the store that we would need to go to. From a place where naked kids play in muddy rivers and their moms hang their laundry on railings of the shacks they float on, she had checked out a gift on-line and sent us the name brand, color etc. of a special item. All this while we were “on the road”, so to say! Quite amazing, I thought.

You've Got Mail!
We stopped in Seattle on our way back from a trip. As we often do, we thought about what time it is on the other side of the world and decided to send a quick email to inquire about a Christmas list, since we wanted to do some shopping the next day. Good thing for blackberries!

Sometime later there was a beautiful little bulky envelope in our mailbox. There was no mistaking where it had come from with all of the stamps on it!! I held it for a while and just enjoyed looking at it! I began to think about all the people who had been involved in bringing this tiny, precious package half way around the world . . . from the hands of loved ones to the exact right home! This too, suddenly seemed amazing!
There are some things emails can't send . . . Thank you, Julene

Anneliese, I can just imagine how holding it and savouring it for a few minutes must be priceless. I'm so glad we live in a world where we can have instant connections like blackberries and then the old fashioned mail that hands have touched and probably kissed on its way.
You are so welcome, Mom ... As the letter was sent with love, so is this comment ... Jules

Isn't mail wonderful? In the world of email and skype and webcams, a letter in the mail is still a wonderful thing! Mmmmmm....I have to remember that too(the other direction!)
I too am delighted that you have started to blog. Your writing even in cards has always been such a blessing to me and now I get to be encouraged by your blog as well.
I also love getting mail!! It's such a nice change! Excited to see that you've started your own blog! Am looking forward to keeping up with it!
You did it! Way to go. I, too, have been inspired by the cards and notes you have written over the years. Something to savour. So now there is more to look forward to.
I am one that just loves recieving a letter in the mail...the old fashioned way. I have afew 'old faithfuls' that continue to send me information and love, and I usually make a coffee and then sit in my favorite place and then enjoy the moment. Kathy
