During the week I walk with a good friend, Doris, whom I've walked with for about 20 years now and on the weekends and summer evenings I walk with my Hon.
On this particular morning we noticed another family walking ahead of us.
Mother goose must have noticed us coming and made sure all in her charge were close together. She strutted about like she owned a certain area. Don't anyone come near!
Father Goose was there too! Very proud and protective. We were just lucky he actually let us go by and take pictures. He could be right dangerous by the looks of things and I wouldn't want to mess with him.
We walked on by without further ado and continued talking, sharing and solving the world's problems before heading into another busy day. Everyone should have a friend to walk with.

A beautiful path to go walking. Love the goose family!
I saw a big ole goose sitting in a parking stall at the Shell gas station earlier this week. Some of them really have no fear!
OH Anneliese. . .you have such a perfect place to walk there. I think the thing that I miss most of living in the country .. .is no sidewalks to safely walk on. I used to drive to town. . to go for my walks. . but that's not much fun. . so now I walk at home. .but I sure do miss walking with a friend.
Aww! These pictures make me miss Abbotsford. I miss the lush green spring. Our trees are just starting to get tiny green buds- but no rambling forests to walk through here... The little goslings are so adorable. I love that you can still see the glistening dew on the grass they're scuttling through. Nothing like early morning for a refreshing start to a day!
I'm with you on that one...walking with a friend is no work at all! Walking in a park sounds perfect...no traffic and a most beautiful setting.
Last year I was blessed to have walked this beautiful path with Lisa. It was in the fall when mother nature was getting ready to sleep for the winter and today's post is about the new beginnings of another year.
You are very lucky you have a friend and this beautiful path right down your street.
Love the pictures.
My Dad just showed me the pictures he took of the geese and their little families. He said he had to move on as one protective fellow looked like he was about to get snappy with the onlooker. I agree that the morning walks with a friend are wonderful....I feel jipped if for some reason we miss a day. My guy prefers to cycle so we do that together in the evenings and our days off. Kathy
You are so right Anneliese...that everyone should have a friend to walk with! I am so blessed to be that friend in your life and thankful for the many years that we have been able to walk the path together. Thank you my friend and a Happy Mother's Day......
