I remember very clearly the hours, minutes and seconds just before they put me to sleep. But after I woke up, it's a different story.
I'd been home for six hours or so, when I realized I had no recollection of getting dressed after my test. I called G and asked her at what point she had picked me up. She laughed and told me that when she got there, the curtain around my bed was drawn and that the nurse told her I was getting dressed. I could tell she was hesitant to tell me it was taking quite some time, but finally two nurses had checked on me. At this point in the conversation I had no idea if she was going to tell me I had gone back to sleep or that I was standing there with no clothes on. It turned out, I was sitting on the bed, fully clothed and just waiting.
Another thought that came to me late in the evening was that I had packed a yogurt in the morning. I wondered what had happened to it? When I went to check my purse, it was gone and the spoon was nicely wrapped in a paper napkin. A very funny feeling . . . like finding out what you did while sleep-walking.
I'm just glad I was careful in choosing the friend who was to pick me up. If it had been one of my kids, my name just might be on the Tabor Home list by now.

I like the snapping fingers in the corner of the picture. I can just hear all the hullabaloo trying to get all the kids to look and smile for the camera! SO cute!!!
That last sentence cracked me up!
I see that the littlest one is back to her old tricks of "I'm not going to smile!" But I did notice in your post a few days ago (about everyone meeting in D-land) that this little girl was smiling very happily in all the pictures.
To me, she looks pensive. I think she'll be a poet or writer.
Glad you are back home.
That is soooo cute! Kathy
...and we would take very good care of you :)
If it makes you feel any better, I have bad memories of coming out of anesthesia too. So weird, hey?
Hope today is a great one!

What a great photo. Glad you made it home with clothes on :0)
Oh I'm smiling now. . .and you must have smiled too and the story I told about getting dressed after my procedure. I am so glad it it behind you and all went well.
What a cute pic! Just adorable kids! You are blessed! Trust you are feeling much better and all is well!
Yup, I've had some interesting experiences with one of my kids and my husband coming out of anesthesia. Great to laugh at...later.
So glad it all went well, Mom! Missed you being with us!
You've got lots of reasons to smile, Anneliese! The test is done...you have no recollection of it...but it seems all went well. And then there are the six reasons on your screen...priceless!
I'm getting caught up on my blog reading - and was concerned for you and then glad when I heard of the good outcome. I don't enjoy being under an anesthetic either. I always get sick to my stomach. Your story is pretty funny! Glad everything went well.
That is some precious picture!
Glad all went well. And don't you wish the memory wiping potion could be delivered as needed? It really is weird to discover that you had conversations and dressed yourself and yet remember absolutely nothing.
Precious picture!!
What a precious picture! How do you get any computer work done? I'd bee smiling at those gorgeous grandkids all day.
I'm smiling as I read this post...how darling. I love the bedshot...it really gives the bed a new meaning.
Many times I've signed up for the Tabor Home...most recently I think it's the Primrose Menno Complex.
