I was headed into the sunset . . . settled into my window seat for several hours and politely using only one armrest . . . when the captain announced that we'd be making an emergency medical landing in Calgary.
What seemed strange was that suddenly the sun was behind us and, looking out, we were flying over a large range of mountains.
Emergency personnel were ready for the patient when we landed . . . but getting going again took time and seemed like a long wait in a hot cabin. After re-fueling, we got on our way again and I was very happy to be finished with my travels when I saw my H waiting for me. It's good to be home!
I have lots more to talk about but no time now. It's been an amazing week!

Yay!!! You're home!!!
Back safe home again...and we are waiting to hear all about it!
We had something similar last year but instead of stopping they continued to work with the patient at the back of the plane since there was a doctor on board. We were not allowed to go back there and boy was I ever curious.
I'm so glad it was a medical emergency and not of a different variety.
Welcome home!
It's cool that you got map photos when they showed up. You were really thinking! Glad that you are safe at home. Rest up and then share!
It's always good to get your feet back home on the ground safely....but it sure keeps you wondering...about the person with health issues..we had to make a turn back from SF on our cruise so we got to see the beautiful Golden Gate Bridge twice.
