While on the couch I noticed how Lacey licked her finger as I turned the pages of the book we were reading.
In the kitchen I squatted for something . . . with one hand on my leg and soon, catching my eye, she was doing the same. We continued with a few squats while we were at it . . . just for fun.
I got the camera out to catch her . . . when suddenly she was rummaging in the toy box
and I was caught with a camera looking at me!
In our back yard, under the big maple tree, we have two swings. One baby swing and one big girl swing. She likes both. We did the baby swing for a while and then she kept pointing at the big one, but refused to get out of the one she was in. Finally I got the message. I sat on the big girl swing . . .
and everything was cool under the big old maple tree as we played peek-a-boo
with the trunk in-between us.

Oh, I love this one. You might not have a picture, but you wrote down a beautiful memory.
Pure preciousness :)
That all sounds like fun! Dairymary
Oh how very sweet! I can just picture the two of you on those swings...
It's amazing how the little ones can get a message across without words. And how proud they are to have you understand.
Those swings are priceless...they spend hours...on them. I have set an old tire beside it...so the little one can now climb up by himself and twist and shout...Oh the home-made swings.
So sweet! And I am still convinced Lacey is the cutest, most trendiest one year old out there! :)
Lovely! It's wonderful but also quite a responsibility to have those little ones want to be like Nana.
Adorable!! I love this post! I think Kristal is right...what a trendy little gal! :-)
I'm impressed with you doing extra squats for FUN!
what a super fun way to spend the morning
But that moment will be hard to forget, even though there was no camera. I love moments like this ... they really cannot be captured on film.
Cute story - so sweet!
She loves her Grammy!!!
That is all so cute!
I winced at the finger licking page turning though.Word of warning though...if you think your grand will ever want to read public library books, you might want to help her break the habit of finger licking page turning. As the old expression goes...you don't know where the book has been....and as much as I dearly love library books for kids to read most of those books have lived through pretty unsanitary situations. Who knows what her fingers might be carrying to her mouth with each lick. Ditto adults finger lickers.
It would be so great if the old fashioned rule of washing hands before reading would come back into vogue for everyone.
What a sweet post! I'm just wondering what happened to 'baby Lacey' though. They grow up so quickly!
