Quite some time ago, on separate occasions,
Lovella and I both purchased tickets for the Michael W. Smith concert.
Although we were not sitting together, she decided to make it a double date
by having us over for a bite to eat first. She said, all we are having is buns. Right.
Walking into their bungalow is always a welcome reprieve.
I've noticed that she loves switching things about,
bringing out a vintage apron, a handmade doily or other memento
from her special trunk . . . adding fresh flowers and candles . . .
I love how her sentimental side comes through in a nostalgic way,
yet still timeless in beauty.
This day was no exception . . .
but more special as she had decorated her table for Christmas.
It was a treat just to see the care with which she had laid out the table
for a simple meal of buns, cold cuts, jam, cheese, pickles, veggies and some sweets.
Thank you, dear friend, for always allowing me to see more of who you are.

Oh how I would love to visit that bungalow for Christmas! You're so right that it is such a welcome reprieve. It certainly was to these weary travelers nearly 6 months ago! :-)
What a nice double date. You are right....she knows how to make things lovely. Her home is a cozy retreat.
Lovely. A great way to start the evening...
She sounds like the perfect hostess! My desire has always been that others would feel comfortable in our home and that it would be a place they would want to visit often. Seems she has accomplished that!
OH...so kind...and I love how you see things on the other side of the table.
I'm so glad we could fit in that quick visit!
That sounds like a lovely double date!
Thanks for the little peek into Lovella's bungalow. Looking so pretty over there! What a nice start to a the evening.

Truer words have never been spoken Anneliese!! You ladies inspire me on a daily basis.....what a lovely post! Thank you.
What thoughtful words you chose to describe your time with this special couple. After years of visiting Lovella's blog, I am convinced that being invited to their home if only for a cup of coffee, she would make it look warm and inviting. All of you ladies are such an inspiration to me. Thank you for sharing this memorable evening.
