Sometimes when I don't know what to write about,
I scroll through my photos and re-live a whole lot of life within a short time.
There are instances I'm amazed how many years have gone by since a certain photo was taken
and other times I'm surprised it's only been as short as the date says.
For example . . .
this dinner around our kitchen table was taken
on the weekend that all ten of the Mennonite Girls Can Cook
got together for the first time.
I still keep checking . . . was it really only three years ago we all met in person?
These years have been packed with so much that it seems longer.
Publishing two cookbooks are the obvious . . .
the relationships built . . . more subtle, but deep.
To have a place . . . at the click of some keys . . . where we can
run through our day
share a funny story
realize we all face challenges
find encouragement
ask for prayer
weep with those who weep
and rejoice with those who rejoice
is a gift I give thanks for!
is a gift I give thanks for!
We are not all the same,
yet the strong thread weaving through our lives
has spun a friendship
that cannot be hidden amongst the recipes we share.
that cannot be hidden amongst the recipes we share.

That was a lovely reflection on your friendship and the wonderful work that has come out of your meeting in Blogdom!
Such a special blessing from our Lord for us. He is good! Thank you for reminding me that it has only been 3 years!
Reflections like this are a cause for thanksgiving. God's grace is amazing.
Friendship is one of life's sweetest blessings and godly friendships are the best kind. So glad you women met and forged such a powerful bond. The Lord has both blessed you and made you a blessing.
You've described our friendship so well Anneliese. We are all so different and yet are truly sisters in the heart.
What a gift to me this friendship has been! Like Ellen said...God is good.
Thank you for this reminding...Anneliese. That was a special time of connecting at your home. I agree -- its it three years already ? or is it ONLY three years? So much has happened, but through it all we each know we are part of a very strong more-than-friends group of women! I am thankful!
Beautiful reflection about 10 very special women!
I love how God works, leads, and directs. You all are a special example of that. I continue to be blessed by MGCC.
Anneliese, I can hardly fathom what life was like without the nine of you. We truly are blessed. Three years have certainly gone by fast!
Really ...only 3 years! Our friendship is unique and precious. One I thank God for many times and I love that within this group we can be who we are and I personally feel so loved by that very fact.
