Yesterday we enjoyed a special time with friends at the house on the lake . . .
the lake that is disappearing quickly this time of year. . .
but still a nice re-treat every time.
Lovella has done a fun post and I'll just direct you there
for a peek into a MGCC time with our hubbies.
In other news . . .

Not far from our home. . . but away from city lots and cul-de-sacs . . .
on a farmroad reminiscent of times gone by . . .
is where our American-born grands now live.
They'd been asking Papa when he would build them a playhouse -
like the ones he built for their cousins.

I documented the beginnings on the July long weekend, but the work
has continued throughout the past eight weeks.
After long days at the office, whenever he had a free evening,
he measured, sawed, sanded and nailed,
as he designed the workings and details of stairs, windows, hinges and trim.

And in spite of the fact that liberties have been taken to move in and out already
. . . with blankets and pillows in tow . . .
I want to say that
the open house is finally here . . . on Grammy's blog!
I can't take any credit for the hard work . . . unless unsolicited opinions count.
In the end . . . I got to add one thing . . . you can guess . . .
and I was happy!
So come on in! Ask any child what they like best . . .
it's the upstairs. You get there via a little landing
and a second set of stairs going up.
and our newest home-owners!
Wishing for many happy play hours
and spiders to keep out!

So perfect ! Wish I was 'little' again !
What a great little house to enjoy...
So fun that is has an upstairs, too!
I love their house!!! My friend, Ardis, when we were really young, had a playhouse with curtains, lighting, windows that opened and we had summer sleepovers at her house in her backyard...Oh the memories from days gone by...
Thank your for the open house tour..
The grands look so happy to have their own home for memories of their own...
Love from NC
Big smile!
No spiders, no property taxes for the kids either!
We LOVE it and feel so blessed!! Thanks for all the time, energy, and resources that were put in to make our kids dream come into reality! We love you!! xo
That is so darling!! I love this little house and your grandchildren are adorable. Your addition makes it perfect. If we are ever so blessed to have grandchildren we will be referring back to this little house.
So awesome!! and just perfect!! Your hubby is amazing....what wonderful memories have been made in the making thereof....and will be made in the living as well!
I always dreamed of having a play house like this as a child. Lucky grands. Thanks for showing us the open house!
Those lucky grands! Beautiful! I'm guessing Grammy added the flowers as a finishing touch.
That's a grand house for your grand children! I'm sure there will be tea parties and camp outs galore in it. Papa is pretty handy with a saw and nails!
This is a dream come true for little ones. I cannot imagine how excited they are. In fact, I find myself being excited for them. The contractor sure did an outstanding job! To have a playhouse with steps and a loft area is just about the coolest thing ever!
I love it! What a great success it has turned out to be. I always wanted a play house when I was little and hope that I still will get my wish someday.
The window box is my favorite part...for sure. I hope they remember to water their flowers but maybe they should take turns. It's good the flowers have a drainable bottom! (just thinking here of how I sometimes get wee help in watering)
wow! now that's one nice playhouse! what a great gift!
I love how you have made play houses for your children in many different places. How exciting. I don't have any memories of play houses, but I guess coming from the farm, we all made forts at our grandparents farms. And we played and played...those are my childhood memories and I watched my own children make hay forts in our hayloft also. It fun to see how we can share life together.
