Sometime in these past few weeks, all ten of us have discovered a surprise parcel in our mailbox! Along with a beautiful letter of explanation came a complimentary copy of the latest printing of the Mennonite Girls Can Cook cookbook.
We immediately took note of the dust jacket and new logo!
Turns out, the change came about as a result of meetings that our publisher's sales and marketing director had with bookstore buyers who strongly felt that a matte finish on the cover with a dust jacket would reach a new market of buyers. And they followed through.
I think I can speak for all ten of us, how much we like the extra coverage and explanation that the flap on the jacket gives the book.
A dust jacket for the Celebrations cookbook is also being created, as we speak. We do not know what it will look like, so I'll say it may be our surprise as much as yours . . . but quite exciting!
In the meantime, I have my working copy by my stove,
so quick to take on the term of the original copy.

It will always be a reminder of where we began,
yet bring a smile for new beginnings.

I love the new logo! So fresh and modern. :)
What a lovely surprise!
This is gorgeous, and yes a good idea. I have to admit wishing for a paperback copy, which is more easily mailed. :)

It looks fantastic! Now that I'm trying to cook/bake with my grands I was wondering if you girls have given any thought to a children's cook book? Just wondering...
It is difficult to believe that new beginnings could be better than the old one, but it looks like it just might be. What a fun surprise! You should have that book sitting by your stove. If I stopped in, I would be disappointed if it was not there. I am proud of you all!
Congrats on yet another printing of your cookbook!! They must be selling so well. The dust cover looks great!
It looks great...pretty colors!
