The doorbell rang and the party was on!
Carmen came in with the biggest smile . . . her long floral dress, pearls and hair pinned back . . . fitting right into the scene. She kept saying, "After all the family showers I've been at, I can't believe this one is for me!" Here she is with her grandma and future sister and cousin.
The punch bowl was one place to gather and catch up as guests came in . . .
our classic family shower punch . . . banana, orange, pineapple.
Once everyone was there, some arriving with something to add to the table,
we helped ourselves to salads, chicken croissants, mango crab cups,
cheese bread sticks and desserts.

The peek into the dining room was a picture of what a blended family table
looks like.
looks like.
And this scene is one that looks all too familiar already . . .
but it's different because of the one sitting on the shower chair.
We may as well call it that.
It was a packed room!
With sights and awes we listened to the proposal story
and enjoyed her excitement about every gift
that will soon be part of every day life.
Favors were passed around to each guest for answering the trivia questions. For me, some of the fun was watching the little girls feeling so proud to be part of the shower.
The night ended with a violin serenade of Gabriel's Oboe . . . a gift from one for whom this shower replaced the wedding she will be missing. I must admit there were some teary eyes at this point.
Julene was standing in the foyer with the French door open to the living room, but from where my niece who took the photo, was sitting, the door became part of the photo.
Carmen, it was such a delight to plan for and host this shower for you! We all wish you and Pierre God's blessings as you dream and plan for wedded life.

Congratulations to Carmen and Pierre. Everything looked so lovely including all the ladies!
I really really miss these gatherings! Everything is so beautiful and Carmen looks radiant! Love you all!
A loving family is a great start to a wonderful marriage. Everything looks beautiful, especially the pale pink peonies on the mantel.
It was my pleasure to meet & work with Carmen for a few months this past year at Tabor Home. She is a lovely woman & I wish her every happiness. I didn't make the connection to your family until a recent post that you did about your family lakehouse - I thought I recognized her on those pictures, and now it is confirmed. :) Beautiful shower, as always! Blessings to you, Anneliese.
Beautiful, aunt Anneliese! Every detail and thought put into the day. Thank you so much again from the bottom of my heart! We are both so overwhelmed by the goodness poured out to us. Love you!
What a beautiful way to bless the bride! Congrats to the young couple.
What a beautiful shower for a gorgeous bride to be! Your home is so lovely and the food looked wonderful. I wanted to have a closer look to your mantel decor - it's beautiful!

Looks amazing!! Wish I could've been there!!
Anneliese, you always do such an amazing job - every detail thought about and the bride's vision is always an important part of the decor. Thank you for hosting and putting so much love into the celebration.
It was so fun to do this together with you, Mom!!! It is a memory that I will treasure ...
Anneliese this was all so beautiful and I saw how special Carmen is to all of you. What a gift to show love in this way.
How absolutely beautiful! and how wonderful that you could celebrate Carmen and Pierre this way! I'm so delighted that they have found each other! :-)
What a beautiful shower -- flowers, candles, lovely ladies, good food, and "Gabriel's Oboe"-- one of my very favorite songs -- wish I could have heard it!
A bridal shower is one of my favorite things. Thanks for including me at this one, via blogdom! I pray a blessing on their marriage as well.
