There was something about the many styles of doors
that caught my attention while we were travelling.
Doors depict safety, privacy, welcome,
a blockage or an opening . . .
Coming back from our trip and looking at the fall ahead
we will find new ways to do life with family spread about
as well as look forward to a soon-to-be-born baby.
It's a door of new beginnings in family dynamics,
maybe a revolving one, but a door of expectancy
to enter with faith and assurance that the Lord goes with us all.
I'd love to know if there are any favorites or
guesses as to were these were taken.
Is there an open or a closed door in your life at this time?
I pray you know God's leading and peace today.

My favorites were all of them except the 3rd one and the next to the last one. Great post with gorgeous photos, Anneliese!
I love doors. Wouldn't you just love to hear some stories from behind them. The last one is my least favorite. I like different things about the rest. The 2nd to the last one is the most intriguing to me!
Love all the doors as each one has a story to tell ... why did they choose that style ... was it there when they moved in ... what kind of person lives there ... are they rich or poor. ... secrets behind doors.
Thanks for another great post.
These are great! I would have to say that I was fascinated by the bright blue doors. It looked like maybe some kind of chic boutique behind the doors? I thought it looked like a dress form to the right of the door. This reminds me of when I was in Dublin, Ireland. The doors there are amazing, much like these!
As for a door in my life, we have just walked into the door of high school! And yes, please pray for us! :-)
I had to chuckle! I totally take 'door' pictures all the time and Dave just doesn't understand why!!! Loved all of them!
love all these doors! so many great ones it was hard to choose a favourite :)
I too am attracted to doors and windows and have a lot of pictures taken on our travels. I love the really old wooden door and those with greenery around them. Beautiful pictures.
I take door pictures as well, but your photos are exceptional. The second last door reminds me of a door in Pompeii, Naples. So many stories these doors could tell.
Helen
I would guess the next to last one was taken in Ephesus! Beautiful doors and beautiful thoughts!
Love your photos. I have some very similiar photos and would guess the blue door is in Mykonos greece.
Love the guesses. The second last door could easily have been in Pompei or Ephesus, but I took this photo along a narrow street in the Medieval town of Hyeres, France. (5th photo down on France post.) The bright blue door is a boutique in Mykonos, Greece.
I was actually hoping you would post about the doors you saw.....and here it is. Very interesting....I wonder about those who designed them.
I love all these Anneliese - great pictures! I am known for taking photos of doors and windows on our travels too. They always intrigue me and I really like your analogy of how they represent life. Your "collection" would make a fabulous photo calendar!
Fabulous pictures of the doors. My favorite is the door with 16 beside it.
I have no idea where these pictures were taken, but it looks like most of them were on a slope, so it's probably not Venice. It would be fun to know where you did take them. Can you let us know?
I found the second paragraph in your blog a very good analogy of doors representing a blockage or an opening...so true.
I pray for you and your 'new beginnings' in your family dynamics.
Audrey.
You love doors...and I love taking photos of window boxes with flowers. This is a beautiful collection and I like the one with #3. It would look beautiful in my home.
What a beautiful collection of doors! I won't even guess where the photos were taken...but I'm sure each one has a story to tell. My favorites are the old wooden ones with the arch above...#4971 and #33.
These doors were not ordered through a catalogue, that is for sure. love them all.
