My Offering

Today it's one month since we said our goodbyes . . .
releasing them from our arms into His.

God of mercy, sweet love of mine
I have surrendered to your design
May this offering stretch across the skies
These hallelujahs be multiplied.

Deep in my heart these lyrics, sung in church on a Sunday morning,
took on a very personal meaning.
If you see tears* in my eyes . . . you'll know why.

After this I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. Revelation 7:9

* When tears of sadness become tears of joy,
it's the long term perspective.

Anneliese, 0h my... my heart commiserates, and my eyes well up, along with yours, and that of your daughter.
Our kids too are in one of those far-away countries, and since they've been there my own heart has been opened so much more to the 'great multitude', God's Body, such a wondrous thing being accomplished by only Him as we together bring our offerings before Him. Lifting, as our daughter says in code, for you and yours. -Marg N

Oh Anneliese, I do know why! And it's not easy...nor does it ever get any easier. But one day we see all the souls that have been touched by your sacrifice and theirs.

I can't imagine. I've never had to release like you have released in this way. There are goodbyes that can be easily solved by a flight that can take place in half a day and then there are your goodbyes. Praying for you again this morning and your dear children who are sharing their very best with those that need it most.

I can't even begin to imagine the sacrifice - theirs and yours. God bless them!

Totally get this....I will never forget the day I hopped on a small plane like that and never did I envision watching all those children waving and staring at us as we landed in their village. This is a real moment for me.
I can only imagine the words of that song.

Hi Aunt Lisa! This is so beautiful. Do you know what? When I opened up your blog, I was listening to Praise 106.5 livestream on my computer, and this VERY song came on "Multiplied" that you talked about! Love this song - one of my current favorites. The words are so fitting for this post.

I've enjoyed catching up on all your posts! Your cruise pictures are incredible. You captured all the beauty of each place you visited. Loved reading about it.

Thinking of you and praying for you as you miss your overseas kids.

Love, Bonnie
