A small blueish accent, to add to the last post, is a journal I keep out in plain view. . . because I need the reminder. When it was gifted to me for Mother's Day, I purposed to use it for the giving of thanks . . . my goal being 1000 things to give thanks for by next Mother's Day.
With Thanksgiving Day approaching, Lovella has challenged us as readers to join her daily thoughts of thanksgiving this month and so I just want to say what a blessing it has been to focus more on things to be thankful for. It is sad to say, that sometimes, despite all I have been given, I sit and wonder what I could write down! Suddenly one thing brings me to more and then yet more. The best part is to read through the pages and realize how rich I truly am!

Anneliese, I really like your idea of coming up with 1000 things you're thankful for in a year. I have a gratitude journal and I list five things I'm grateful for each morning before I read my Bible. I'm like you, it's amazing that some mornings I actually have to think about what I'm thankful for! So ridiculous when I am so blessed each and every day. Sometimes I feel repetitious, but I guess that's just because there are certain things I'm grateful for always.
So so good to reflect on all we've been blessed with.
Your "blue journal of thanks" has inspired me today.
You are very honest Anneliese to say that some days it is hard for you to know what to write down, but how wonderful to look back over the golden edged pages to see how rich you are in so many ways.
I must do this as well so that my thankfulness is 'written' down as well as stored in my memory.
Thank you for sharing.
Audrey.
What a lovely way to journal your 1,000 things to be thankful for! I too have been challenged by Lovella's posts. This has been a roller coaster week of much sadness and much joy. I am so thankful for family, friends and a wonderful church family!
Your blue journal of thanks will be such a treasure one day, but for today it's being filled up with this days thanks.
What a good way to record daily those things for which you are thankful! A treasure.
I've practiced doing this for the past three years and it has been life-changing! Even on the most difficult days it's great to reflect on God's blessings. I love your idea of having your journal out in plain view!
A good way to be reminded of our blessings -- we have so many and yet we get too busy to be thankful for them at times. A good "reminder" journal!
I am thankful for you and for all those wonderful friends I have met in the blogging world. I think a blue book would be a good idea for me, where I write it all down. This post was worded so well and I could identify with it's contents.
