When we arrived on Monday right after lunch, Bob was already there with his grandsons
. . . cleaning up and enjoying the ride.
I'm thankful for this place . . .
for cousins to meet up

and second cousins to make connections.
I'm thankful for Abe, who used to be a special family friend and neighbor . . .
now part of the family.
And for my mom who now has the joy of holding her great-grandchildren in her arms.
By late afternoon the outside did not look so inviting any more
but inside the lakehouse it was warm and friendly.

I always enjoy your posts about this special place, Anneliese. The family gatherings, the love story of your mom and Abe, the beauty of the surroundings. Thanks for sharing yet another installment!
I've only ever thought the inside of the lakehouse was warm and inviting. I'm pretty sure that no small fact has nothing to do with the renovation.
Great pictures.
Glad your extended family had a wonderful day of celebrating...
So nice that there are so many of you from all the families who live close enough to enjoy the lake house and time together. That's a sweet picture of your mom.
A gathering place indeed! What a fabulous picture of your mom holding her sweet great grand baby! Wonderful!
Something tells me that, no matter what your lake house looked like, you all would enjoy just being together. Seeing all ages celebrating at one such lovely place, is a real blessing. I can't tell you how much I like visiting here. You, and your family are an inspiration to me.
Your lakehouse is warm and friendly place to be...inside and out!
When I saw the picture of the child on the lawnmower, I had to look closely because something about the face and curls reminded me of your Teddy. Do you see the likeness?
Thank you for filling me up with these beautiful moments of "home" captured.
