Coloring Class

Have you  noticed the coloring books for adults?
A friend gave me one for Christmas, along with a set of pencil crayons.

So I had to think about Lacey, who - I'm sure has colored way more pictures than
I have in my lifetime. She loves coloring.
The other day we spent an hour and a half just sitting and coloring.
"When you color, you talk," she said.
A six-year-old's way of saying," this is a nice way to visit."

She's right. I had no idea it could be so much fun!

And . . . well, we did not quite get done,
but I had to play with it on Picassa.
That was fun too.

What a fun play date! I've seen the coloring books for grown ups, but haven't purchased one. My DIL has one and she colored me a gorgeous picture that proudly hangs on my fridge.

Your little granddaughter is wise! Sometimes the best talks come when our hands are busy but our minds are free.

Such a sweet time with Lacey. She's got it right - coloring is a good time for talking.

Awww - what a fun thing to do with your Lacey. She's so sweet. Those adult colouring books are the rage.

I have most certainly colored more with the grands than I ever did as a child. I think we had so little selection of things to color and now there is so many options. Lacey is a sweet little girl and so nice that she liked the idea of visiting with you.

I don't remember spending time coloring as a young girl, but I sure have done my share of coloring since having grandchildren. It has produced special times together for us, and I like seeing you and your granddaughter engaged in it too. Looks like you are both gifted in it too! What a sweet little girl Lacey is!

I used to love coloring when I was a young girl, spent many hours doing it. I haven't yet gotten into the new coloring books for adults, but I've been tempted! I absolutely love Lacey's perceptive comment...she is so right!

Sweet Lacey...lovely works of art! My granddaughter just left...and I am cleaning up the crayons. Colouring is something I like doing with the grands...and talking at the same time is a bonus.

I love colouring with my grands too....Next group of young grands are here now and I will soon be able to colour with them...And Lacey is wise beyond her years...Talking with the grands while colouring is wonderful...
One question, I have looked around online for the colouring book you and Lacey used. Where can I find it, as I have looked online at Family Christian Stores and they don't have that book.
Thank you for your great motivation post....
Love from NC

Hello Sandy,
It's a great coloring book with bookmarks and cards to color included.
It's published by Christian Art Publishers. Here is a site you can order from:

Thank you Anneliese....going to the site now....
My daughter in love had an owl coloring book that
is fantastic...My son bought it for her and she
loves colouring in it...Their daughters, Olivia almost
three and Emily 19 months old love watching her. Soon
they will be able to colour with her and me....Oh,
so looking forward to doing that again with grandgirlies.
