How to Wear a Scarf

Ben and Kari came for dinner and after we were finished eating, I did what everyone who knows a blogger fears. I got out my camera. It was a perfect evening to get the scarf photos done. The only thing that would have made it better is if Kari had been able to wear of her own colors, but she was a good sport about donning some of my things and smiling for the camera. I always admire her great sense of fashion and especially the beautiful smile that accompanies her.

So, here I have a few photos of options for wearing a scarf. For most of them I have a photo and then a little cartoon instruction from a cute website Kari also sent me. Please check out the site as well, as I do want to give credit to Leigh & Luca for the drawings.

At the end I have two little videos that blogger would only let me post there and no where else!

Play around with these ideas and you will probably come up with some of your own.
To store a crinkled scarf, just twist it like a rope and loop it into a circle.

Great lesson! The folks at Nordstroms taught me that if you tie a knot on one end and slip the other end through the knot instead of tying the two ends together the scarf will lay nicer in front.
It really works.

Yes, I agree, a BEAUTIFUL model (especially with the glowing face and cute baby bump!)...
Thanks for the lesson! I look forward to the weather cooling down here (like below 90 F!) so that I can pull out my scarves and wear them.
PS. This is a GREAT Christmas gift idea (hint, hint, hint!)

Aww, I love the Canadian accent! When all I know of you is from what you write, somehow I never tried to imagine what your voice sounds like.

Loved this post and the video tutorial! Thanks for taking the time to educate us. :-) I typically stick to the simple asymmetrical loop, quickest and easiest!

Beautiful scarves and lovely model!! I've lived long enough now to see scarves come and go - 3 to 4 times I think! Even had books to show us how! Fashion - interesting topic!

What a great lesson...and I'll be back here for reference, I'm sure! Thanks to Kari for being a willing model...and providing the 'play by play'. I think scarf shopping might just be the place for me to start.

Such a helpful post to for those getting into Autumn and such a lovely sister of mine to agree to be your model.

Scarves are such an added feature. I love wearing them and have worn them for years...I just bought some new ones this fall and I loved your model. Isn't she fun? And always smiling and knows how to put a real twist into fashion.
Great new trends and ideas for the upcoming fall season.
