The Guest House

Last year, when Chris and Julene moved to this island, they moved into a house that needed some tender lovin' care . . . a lot of it. There was also a separate little house in the back that looked like an abandoned storage.

Since part of their ministry often involves hosting travelling guests, they decided to turn it into a guesthouse . . . and it's the cutest place ever!

The first morning, Paeton was at our door bright and early . . . he came under the covers and talked and talked. One of the things he told me was that the pillow shams were made from a tablecloth! I could tell that even this six year old boy thought this was creative.

The room has a bright little sitting area . . .I recognized the artificial planter, as as well as other things, as  gifts from the past.

In our little house there is a lovingly stocked kitchenette . . .that includes a mini sized fridge with some favorite drinks and snacks . . . dishes and necessities to make tea . . . and a shelf stocked with other toiletries.

The little corner that used to have a squat toilet, has a beautifully tiled shower . . . speaking of which . . . even the tile border was something taken from a suitcase from home.

We are loving our little nest . . . morning visits . . . meals together . . . singing . . . watching movies . . . and today Papa started a new project outside with the kids. It has something to do with a mango tree in the back yard.

It must feel a bit like when you were a child and had a space to play house. How special that they gifted you with this special place.

You can just sense the peace of that guest house in the pictures. I love the bird picture in your collage. I'm so happy for you and the grandkids to have this time together.
