I Love

I was scrolling through my photos . . .
when this one caught my eye . . .
a special moment recorded almost unawares.
I love how he plays with the kids.
It's not really playing with tangible things ...
 it's about twirling them,
responding for their need to be tickled,
throwing them in the air,
giving aiplane rides,
and walking them on the ceiling.
The ones watching, beg for more
as they wait their turn.
They may be barely a year and point their little finger in his face
to have him pretend to bite it.
A little older and they ask for Papa spanks . . .
which means bending them over his knee,
doing a balancing act...
then clapping his hands to make it sound real.
I hear the giggles of relief that he did not forget.
I love that kind of trust
and the fun he has with them,
their Papa.

Thanks for sharing that cute photo, it's truly a picture worth a thousand words! One of the unexpected joys of becoming a grammy has been watching my husband become gramps. He was an awesome dad to our four kids and he's an awesome grandfather now.

A tender tribute to a wonderful Grandpa! I agree with the last commentor - a moment in time preserved which will bring back warm memories later.

We have good men. ..very good men. I see the same sort of play here. .endless teasing. I have realized I am not good at teasing and most days I think they like him better than me but I'm okay with that. .because I'm part of the package. :)
Love the photo!!

It's so fun to watch our hubbies become grandfathers! Every one of our grandchildren at some time has said to me 'Grandpa is sooo silly!' I'm glad they think he's silly instead of stodgy or serious!

Too many of those wonderful moments. Tonight we also shared some of those special times again. I am so happy that they have a special Papa.
