Baby Tessa

I think that by now she deserves her own post, our youngest, affectionately called Teddy.  She is just over seven weeks old now . . . a little dream come true.

I love how she folds her legs under herself when on her tummy or laying against my chest.

. . .  how she studies me with her clear blue eyes while cradling her in my arms and  how she is beginning to make sounds that tell you she has something to say.

Next weekend she will be carried onto an airplane, having no idea
how far that short flight will actually take her.
If she were cooped up in the car, she’d maybe have an inkling
that something was wrong. At the very least, she may let her mom an dad know
when it’s far enough already!
All I can say is that I hope she has studied our faces well enough.

It's possible, with a big sister to tell her all about us,
she will be kept in the know
and we're looking forward to the smiles to come.
We will continue to make special memories, whether here or yonder.

Ahhh, a bittersweet post. Enjoy these moments of having your newest baby close by! However, I have a feeling she will still see lots of her Grammy even though separated by distance. A new place to visit! :-)

Those little girls look so similar. Very sweet post from a grammie who adores each of her little ones...taking in each moment with details. Tenderly sweet....praying all goes well as she takes her first...but not last flight. She will know you...and love you.

What a little sweetie. She sure resembles her older sister. Praying for the little girls and their grammie!

I giggled out loud when I saw the picture of her legs folded up - sooooo sweet! Like Kathy said - bitter sweet! This week will be treasured for sure. She WILL know her wonderful grammie and there will be many memories made!

A bit of a choked up feeling...teary eyes as I read this. I am not sure if I am sadded for you or for your grands...both sides of the equations will be doing without some things that are precious. God certainly has blessed this generation with the invention of Skype!

What a cutie! Distance is hard on Grammies! I remember when our one year old granddaughter moved all the way from the east coast to the west coast for a year -- she's back now and only across the state but still too far for this Grammie!

What a cutie...and of course she will have you etched in her heart as she has a mommy and daddy who will make sure that you too will make that short flight.
I can imagine the tug in your heart.

Such delicate beauty . . . and so full of promise!

What beautiful girls! It is so difficult to have them all close by. Soon she'll be able to talk on the phone or skype with you!

Love the picture of Lacey with her...such a sweet big sister! Praying for you this week.....and thankful for skype and facetime which I am sure you will make great use of all the time!

It's a good thing we have things like skype and facetime but you already know from past experience that it is not anything like human touch.
For that....we are happy for airplanes and direct routes and seat sales.
She's beautiful.

You and Dad are such amazing grandparents, and somehow the grands all know you despite the far distances that have separated. Lacey will tell Teddy all about you, and I trust that the distance will make the hearts only grow fonder.

I love you, Mom ... Praying for you in these counting-down days.

Ohhh... That picture of Teddy and Lacey makes me laugh!...a constant scene around our house, big sister "taking care of the baby"! Not always as gentle as this picture might suggest! Anyways, thanks for the sweet post on our little girlie. She is so lucky to have you for a Grammy, and there are reminders everywhere to prove it!

What precious grands you have! One of ours used to tuck her legs under herself like that. SOOOOO adorable.

What a sweet child...your Baby Tessa! Good-byes are not easy...but good-byes are not forever. May you find lots of ways to remove the distance between you.

So very sweet..the name Teddy suits her. I love the photo of the big sister caring for her little sister:)
I know you will find ways to make sure she remembers you. I also recognize the heaviness of your heart these days.

There's no doubt that you will continue to make special memories with these two little sweethearts, considering all your experience with long distance grandparenting. Cute little girls!
