Fourth Advent - Peace

I have traveled many moonless night
Cold and weary, with a babe inside
And I wonder what I've done
Holy Father, you have come
And chosen me now
To carry your son

I am waiting in a silent prayer
I am frightened by the load I bear
In a world as cold as stone,
Must I walk this path alone?
Be with me now
Be with me now

Chorus:
Breath of heaven
Hold me together
Be forever near me
Breath of heaven
Breath of heaven
Light up my darkness
Pour over me your holiness
For you are holy

Breath of heaven

Do you wonder as you watch my face
If a wiser one one should have had my place
But I offer all I am
For the mercy of your plan
Help me be strong
Help me be
Help me

artist, Amy Grant
lyrics, Chris Eaton

These lyrics, when personalized into our own situations, are so powerful
they have brought me to tears - to think of what God may have chosen for me -
and I'm comforted in the knowledge of realizing that Mary did the right thing.
She offered all she had, for the mercy of God's plan,
simply asking for strength . . . and she had peace . . .
not in resignation, but in trust.

Annaliese - this song spoke deeply to me 14 years ago in December when God asked me to trust Him as He led me through my cancer journey. It was a dark time yet He was my light to guide my path and what happened along the way was truly amazing. Best of all though, was that He became so much more than my Saviour - He became Lord of all in every area of my life. I was transformed and I pray that He was glorified. What an amazing song to serve as a reminder that no matter what God is with us and in us - as close as our breath. Have a blessed Christmas and a new year overflowing with blessings from above.
