This Christmas gift for my H sat tucked away in an envelope, waiting for this weekend.
We drove down to Seattle on Saturday, checked into a hotel for the one night,
had a bite and took a town car to the Chris Tomlin, Kari Jobe and Louie Giglio Concert.
It was our first time at the Key Arena and there was not a single disappointing thing about it.
The music was loud . . . but the words were louder.
I always listen to the words.
Kari Jobe started us off with an old hymn, Praise God from Whom all Blessing Flow, and I was set. Some of you will understand the significance of that alone.
Her passion and sincerity in the songs she sings,
cannot help but make you feel like you are faced with what really matters.
Heal my heart and make it clean
Open up my eyes to the things unseen
Show me how to love like you have loved me
Break my heart for what is yours
Everything I am for your kingdom's cause
As I walk from earth into eternity
Imagine being there...
his songs were a combination of the old familiar as well as a number from his newest recording.
My old favorite is His Grace is Enough. That song carried me through much more than I need to share right now. My new favorite is called Sovereign
Sovereign in the mountain air
Sovereign on the ocean floor
With me in the calm
With me in the storm
Sovereign in my greatest joy
Sovereign in my deepest cry
With me in the dark
With me at the dawn
In your everlasting arms
All the pieces of my life
From beginning to the end
I can trust you
In your never failing love
You work everything for good
God whatever comes my way
I will trust you
God whatever comes my way
I will trust you
All my hopes
All I need
Held in your hands . . .

But the words that stayed with me long after the concert was over
came from a song called Whom Shall I fear.
I will trust you
All my hopes
All I need
Held in your hands . . .
But the words that stayed with me long after the concert was over
came from a song called Whom Shall I fear.
Such a blessing to hang onto . . .
the God of angel armies is always by my side.
Pastor Louie Giglio gave a message . . . yes, a preacher at a concert!
the God of angel armies is always by my side.
Pastor Louie Giglio gave a message . . . yes, a preacher at a concert!
It was, after all more like a church service, numbering 10,000 choir members.
Louie told the story of the prodigal son . . .
and what I came away with is that the gospel, the good news,
is not that we are bad and Christ came to make us good.
The fact is, were are dead and Christ came to give us life!
For this son of mine was dead and is alive again!
Luke 15:24
Music, singing and celebrating continued and I know there were many who
truly found their way home on Saturday night.

Looks like a fabulous event in everyway!
What a special night for you, Anneliese!! I love contemporary Christian music and listen to it everyday while I'm walking. If you get a chance, have a listen to "Hello, My Name Is" by Matthew West - it is my new favourite song!!
So glad you had a wonderful evening and that God was glorified! Wonderful photos. I love the lyrics you shared...
Beautiful. The messages will stay in your heart for a long time.
Thanks for sharing the beautiful lyrics with us. It sounds like the best kind of Christmas gift to give...and receive.
Beautiful, encouraging, and inspiring words! What a great concert that must have been!
Sounds like you had a great time away. That was one concert that I really wanted to go to. Those two Chris Tomlin songs have been my favorite songs since I bought his CD in mid January.
My heart can feel the fullness yours must have....some of the songs that have so often spoke to my heart, soul and mind.
This looks like a perfect night away to be inspired by such wonderful worship leaders.
I loved those words and we've been able to visualize these songs in your heart as you sung praise to God through the worship leaders.
I love those songs.
Looks like it was a truly wonderful evening!
sounds like it was a fabulous night - chris tomlin is my favourite artist!
Chris Tomlin is on the radio as I type...so glad that you had a great time. We try to go to Parachute Music Festival each year and it is such an awesome experience to worship the Lord with thousands and thousands of others.
Oh yea...love seeing Chris and Louie in concert. I have been to three. They are always a powerful worship service. Not familiar with Kara I will have to check her out. So glad you two were blessed...along with the other9,998!!
A foretaste of heaven, that is what it sounds like to me. I really appreciate that you shared the words to their powerful songs. What comfort and what peace they bring to my heart today. A perfect gift for your husband!
That is just so wonderful Anneliese. I wish I had been there. It sounds like the music, the message and the encouragement were such a gift from God.
