I just recently got back to the book I'd been reading earlier and saw another side of what it means to make your life count. Yes, it is about using the gifts God has given me, but that does not mean it will always be easy and that I won’t be stretched.
Sometimes I may have to decide to do something that scares me silly, because that is exactly when I have an opportunity to see what God will do.
I’m reminded of the story of Paul asking God to remove a “thorn” in his flesh, and God telling Him, “My grace is sufficient for you.”
(2. Corinthians 12: 9) As a result, Paul goes on to brag about his weaknesses, because that is when God’s power is made perfect.
(2. Corinthians 12:10)
So these are thoughts that encouraged me this weekend. And as I focused on that, He gave me a song that’s been coming back to me again and again . . . encouraging words reminding me to be still and know that He is God.

Wonderful thoughts Anneliese. .thank you for that encouragement.
It was that same song that kept coming to me in the week before my mother was diagosed with cancer. I believe it was because I had been feeling God's nearness, that when the news was confirmed, (I was in the emergency department with her) I did not feel afraid, and was able to support Mom, and communicate with the rest of the family with calmness. I enjoy reading your reflective posts. Dairymary
I love you quote by Donna Parton. How true!
My little granddaughter's favorite expression was "I have to face my fears!" and face them she did!
May I be as brave! smile
Thanks for your post today Anneliese...it was so good to read this and be encouraged by your words.

Alvina
