Accountability

Of all the rooms in the house to choose from, lately one of the grands' favorite play areas
has been the basement storage room.
The discovery of all kinds of toys still stored in boxes and on shelves
. . . is one that will not be forgotten.

Yesterday was no exception . . . there was big time excitement when I finally took them down.
This is where they have their Mimi's full attention . . . away from the kitchen
and other household distractions.
We sit on the floor and simply play. Sometimes, one of them runs over
to the play house and comes back with a cup of something for me
. . . and we continue to line up cars, adjust a tool belt or give a lesson on how to use a battery operated power tool.

Koen, barely one year old,

pretends to be a lot older, as he observes and copies his cousin . . . . or his brother.

Landon, the ever observant one . . .

wanted to know about that one funny screw on the workbench.
He asked me who had done it. I said, "I don't know, but someone sure went to town on it."
To which he responded, "Where were YOU when somebody did that?"
Nothing like feeling chided by a three year old for not paying attention at all times!

That is so sweet - he is a pretty serious 'oldest' I think.
Some of those toys sure look familiar!

You never know what's going to come out of the mouth of these babes. Sweet.

Hope your appetizers are now safely residing in sealed containers!

You were not on the floor playing like Grammies do ..that is for sure!! I love this.

OH ..that room is going to get busier and busier over the next month. I love it!

Totally amazing that you still have all those toys! We've moved so often and have had to part with so much! It's wonderful to see the second generation having fun with toys dad and mom loved as a child!

Where were you, grammy? Too funny! I think we could open an antique toy shop between the lot of us!

Last time my 9 year old granddaughter was here for a sleepover, I told her something she was doing might not be appropriate; to which she shot back, Grandma, do you think that word I heard you say earlier was appropriate??

They are watching and listening.
