On Monday, the day I had planned out so carefully,
we woke up to a winter wonderland!
It was the day I had set aside
to surprise him on his 40th Anniversary with the company
and he had no idea that his day would be filled with interruptions.
The emails and calls started coming in almost first thing in the morning
and, as he wondered out loud what was going on,
no one let on that they knew anything.
I got there with Julene, balloons and cake in hand for coffee break.
By lunch time he figured out that
it was not going to be a work day at all.
Sandwiches were ordered in as invited guests,
one after another, popped in to say hello and chat.
It became a day to reminisce . . .
a joy to surprise him . . .
a perfect snow day.

I love that picture; is there a (blue plaid shirt) uniform policy? :)
what a great way to honour his 40 years!
Love it when a surprise comes together successfully! Great play on words!
How great that you were able to surprise him! What a happy bunch of faces in that photo.

Wonderful!! So glad that it all worked out and that it was a great day of not only surprising him but honoring him as a great boss! Well done!
I love that it all turned out just as you planned and maybe even better. He'll never forget this S'no work day ...ever.

So that was the anniversary! Well done with the surprise!
Love the catchy title! It's not always easy to really surprise someone but it's so much fun when it works out! 40 years in one job . . . that speaks highly of him!
He looks so happy in these pics! What a great surprise!
What a perfect way to spend a snow day!
Mom, you organized a very lovely day for Dad ... And really it is a celebration for you as well since you have stood together with Dad all these years!
