We woke up to a day that I can only describe as glorious! The sun shining,
just as we imagine the day must have been when the then-known-world heard that Jesus was no longer dead. Imagine the joy of looking and finding angels with good news!
For me, Easter baskets are a grandparent's privilege, since that is how our kids grew up,
looking for baskets at Oma and Opa's house.
And, although baskets have nothing to do with the Easter story, I like to observe the joy of them looking and finding a surprise that brings them running back with huge smiles.
There was some concern about how to get at some tightly wrapped up cookies . . .
while others just dug right into what they could.
Some may have had a hard time deciding what to enjoy first
while others investigated and saved.
After dinner the Paska baskets got tested.
I think they passed the taste test once again.
This smile is a special one as I'm sure she does not remember a family Easter like this.
In fact, I know, this is her first Easter with cousins.
These are the special times . . . the times we'll hold in our hearts. To be sure, there will be changes, but that is what makes these moments unique and wonderful.

I love those photos and I love your gentle sentiment. It is indeed a grandparents privilege.
Wonderful photos, Anneliese. Your family is blessed by you in so many ways. Holding moments in our hearts - love the way you put it.
Such beautiful children! I think Easter actually suits children best...as cute as they are in Christmas themes, their fresh beauty is more fitting to spring.
Your post brought tears to my eyes and lump in my throat, knowing your underlying emotions. What a precious memory you created, not only for your beautiful grandchildren but also for you !
I love to come here and look and think...what is it that I can add to my Easter celebration.
The message is clear and simple. Share the Easter message with the whole family, young and old.
Beautiful photos.
What wonderful memories...and you made them extra-special!
What a wonderful day for your family! So glad you took pictures to keep and to share with us! :-)
Beautiful photos. Beautiful children. Easter 2012 memories to cherish! Thanks for sharing.
What lovely photos of the children's joy in their Easter baskets. These precious times together - and I know that you appreciate them more than many! - are what make the memories that will be carried forward into the next generation.
I think Jesus must smile in satisfaction when He sees us having days like these...just what He died and rose again to accomplish. Your pictures are lovely...that fade around the edges emphasizes the fleetingness of our moments. Very nice.
