July 12th, 1982 was a beautiful sunny day! We took our two little girls to Cultus Lake and sat on a picnic blanket, keeping our eyes on them as they explored around us and played games. I remember the day quite distinctly because on this particular milestone Birthday we also celebrated some exciting news from the doctor's apointment that morning.
Fast forward thirty years to the day . . . I packed a picnic basket and cooler and we headed out to the same lake again.
Teddy entertained us with her sweet smiles from the stroller and then promptly fell asleep,
while Lacey had some defined plans for our walk. They included visiting two parks! The number of which she emphasized by using her fingers for confirmation. Lucky for her, sometime in the past thirty years, a lakefront playground has been added. We played there and then found an elementary school down the road . . .
where she entertained us with her enthusiasm for hopscotch.

How perfectly sweet! Now, I find myself hoping that you son gets news from his family doctor, soon. And that 30 years from now you can go back again - with his third child. A little boy just like him! Aren't children and grandchildren such a blessing.
ahhh - they are so adorable! what great memories to share - thank you!
So sweet! What amazing memories you are making these days!
so sweet...what a neat way to celebrate a very special memory!
It is wonderful how things can change but, stay the same.
I remember that day 30 years ago!
Wonderful! Ice cream cones are a theme today...
There always needs to be a tuck shop at the end ad any activity, not only for the little ones, but for the big ones too.
Oh so fun to see the repeat from so many years ago. I thought there might be a surprise at the end about a doctors visit being repeated too.
So sweet that Jules remember it as well.
How fun is that...a repeat of that day 30 years ago! (I'm smiling at Lovella's comment...about a possible repeat visit to the dr's office.) Hopscotch and ice-cream cones and two parks...I think Lacey will remember this day in 30 years as well!
Such fun! And a wonderful tradition and memory to share with the grandgirlies!
What a great way to repeat history! Great memories made again!
