Bathroom Makeover

The 1980's cabinet

and the 2010's  cabinet.

I cleaned our the entire old cabinet with a trash bag close at hand.
Sometimes you have to wonder why you've kept something for so long.
One example:
I like having my make-up off the counter but easy to get to.
Many moons ago, I concocted an organizing scheme, using an assortment
of those thin plastic cookie liners found in a bag of cookies, such as oreos.
These liners, along with a few card box lids, worked great!
I could have kept them for another few decades and my girls would have had a good laugh
when their time comes to clean out my cabinets.

But no more! I found this beautiful vanity organizer
(don't you just love the name?)

and wouldn't you know it? It fit in the new drawer, like it was made to order!

For bigger personal items, I use a couple of low Ziploc containers.
His and hers.

Now I'm just waiting for someone to tell me they prefer the first cabinet
and why did we change it up?

 . . . for everything a season . . .

I prefer the first cabinets. :)
But only because they're white. I like the new counter top better. And drawers are far superior to cupboards!

It looks pretty! And hooray for an excuse for organizing!

wow! beautiful transformation... it is ironic though that my daughter just painted her bathroom cabinet from beige to white :)
... for everything a season... is exactly right

I love it and just drooling over that LONG vanity with ALL that space. As you can well imagine... I'd take either in a flash... but love the look of your new cabinet. Organizers...something I love and probably dream about.
Also... enjoyed peeking in your cosmetic selection and see we think alike!

I like the modern lines of the new vanity, but confess to being partial to white cabinets. Organizing stuff is always so satisfying, I find.

Love the new look although I did have to laugh because I too am planning on painting my wooden vanity white! :-)

I love the new vanity! And I agree with someone else who mentioned how much better drawers are than cabinets. You can organize so much easier with drawers. Very nice transformation!

It looks so nice now, Anneliese. We have 2 bathrooms to make over sometime in the next year and I can hardly wait! I love the organizers - doesn't it feel wonderful to have a place for everything?

Actually your're right. I've always loved white and next time...my cabinets will be vintage white. I'm so glad your updates are so suitable for you. That's what counts. Enjoy keeping everything so nice and clean again.

I do like your old cabinet, but I understand you wanting to update!
I like the organizers you've used.
It's given me a few ideas!

Fun post. Two totally different looks. I like the white counter top with the dark contrasting cabinets with all the drawers. Those vanity organizers are just the best. The dollar store has little white trays I've got in a lot of my drawers and they come in different lengths and widths and hook together giving me the same idea you have. I smiled at the cookie dividers....I used to do that too and my mom had a few of those in her drawers....my sister and I had such fun and even laughter when we went through mom's things. I think my own girls will have that fun one day:)
