While we had a few extended family dinners over the weekend . . .
we still have not had turkey.
So, it's on the menu for tonight
to celebrate a belated thanksgiving and an early Birthday for Kristal.
While the girls and their families were planning to meet Ben and Kari in Edmonton,
this past weekend, they kept asking us to go as well . . .
however, we had a few home improvement projects going and
really liked the idea of them having some time on their own.
Isn't it every parent's dream that their kids grow up being friends?
It was a big sadness for me when they were all living in different countries . . .
wondering how the in-laws and cousins would ever get to know each other.
So, you can guess how thankful I am for these past two years.
I'm posting this photo that came via text message
with the feeling that they may have bet on whether I'd post it.
Here they are all in their thirties squished into a telephone booth at West Edmonton Mall.
Why?

Because they knew I have a photo of them, in their teens, posing in the telephone booth
at the same Mall.
Boy, did it take me back to another season in my life!
Julene had just started college, Kristal Grade 11 and Ben Grade 8 . . .
and I realized with unbelief that I was still in my thirties when this photo was taken,
although barely.
Sigh . . . how the years go by!
So glad the three of them with their families could enjoy their weekend
while humouring me with my own trip down memory lane.

How fun is that! And they haven't changed a bit. :)
I must say I am absolutely thrilled we are having Turkey dinner for my birthday!! :)
I really love that they thought to get in that booth again and take an "after" shot! Too sweet...
Happy Belated turkey dinner to you! :)
Love that you had the original of the three in the phone booth!
Those children know their mother well. I'm happy you didn't disappoint. I agree, it's rewarding to see our children being friends as adults.
Fun photo. Beautiful children and adults. I love it when our children get together as friends.
Fun, fun....how cute that is. I wish my children were friends.........
I love those dejavu pictures. I have some of those as well.
I love that photo.....then and now.
I love this! Way to go for being a dependable Mom!
Precious memories that linger in our hearts. What a cute idea! I like that our adult children are good friends now too. Your creativity started a long time ago.
