Natalie's Hotel Service

It felt strange landing at the airport in Durango and realize that this was possibly the end of this kind of a visit. The kind of visit that begins with disembarking the plane as quickly as possible in anticipation of the kids running into my arms . . . warm hugs all around ... with a mixture of shy and excited smiles on their faces, as we head to the baggage claim.

It's not every Grammy that gets to sleep in her granddaughter's bedroom . . . a bed made ready just for her.

On my first morning there . . . I started making the bed . . . like I would at home . . . and then she came in and said, "No, Mimi, I will make your bed!" She unmade what I had done and proceeded to make the bed. I said, "You know how to do that?" She said, "I do it every day!"

The second morning she came again ... to make my bed. I was quite liking this service! Never had that in this house before!

On the third morning . . . I asked her if she would make my bed again, and she said, "No, not today." Oh ... but by this time I had a certain plan ... so I asked her if she would show me how to make it . . . and she gladly did that.  Good thing!

OH so very sweet. So that is what it is like to have a grandgirlie? I wonder if hotel service is available to intown grammies. So very fun. I love her bed.

Haha! So great! Maybe I will have to hire her one day when I have my own little inn. :)

It reminds me a little bit of a story of when Oma and I were in Brazil. We were at a hotel, and in the morning, Oma made her bed. I told her she didn't have to, since that was the housekeepers' job. So she proceeded to make her bed "messy" again, by making the pillow crooked on the bed. Haha! Can't let anybody see your messy bed!

Isn't it wonderful to have maid service? She has been taught the art of tutoring you through this bed making skill. I love it.
I'm smiling at Ellen's comment...that's OK too. I won't make any comments...but I love my bed made up every day.

Sweet post . . . and precious little granddaughter! We get to sleep in our grand's bed when we go to visit, and she so gladly gives it up - even though she's a teenager now!

How very sweet! I'm impressed that she can make a bed hotel-perfect at her age. And how nice that you could be pampered on your final stay in Durango!
